Our Impact

Health Information Project (HIP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, informing and empowering youth. Through its peer-to-peer high school model, HIP is revolutionizing health education. HIP is determined to ensure that every kid in the US is healthy — physically and emotionally.

HIP believes

…it is not enough to just teach kids about world history, geometry, literature and biology. They need to be taught about how to cope with anxiety, help a family member with depression, report a sexual assault and support a bullied classmate.

Creates a school environment that is safe, supportive, and inclusive

Supports, informs, and empowers youth to take on the biggest health crises of their generation

Develops young leaders that contribute positively to their communities

Maximizes the utilization of health resources on a school's campus
and in communities

Saves money with a cost-effective, science-based, and data-driven program with tangible, measurable results

Promotes civic engagement and a sense of community

Kids prefer to be taught about health topics from their peers instead of by adult teachers

Emotionally and physically well children perform better academically

Helps 9th grade students acclimate to high school more easily

Teaches students coping skills, empathy and how to advocate for themselves
and others
